RARE WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON 1840 CAMPAIGN QUILT. Second quarter 19th century, American. The quilt wrought with floral pink and white fabric designed for the 1840 Harrison campaign. The fabric depicts Harrison within a laurel wreath above a banner reading “HARRISON AND REFORM”, additionally depicting a vignette of Harrison’s trademark log cabin and “Hard Cider” barrel, and filled in with flowers and leaves. Panels flanked by triangular calico and floral pieces in the “flying geese” pattern. SIZE: Overall: 101″ l x 92″ w overall. Side panel: 75″ l. Bottom panel: 52″ w. CONDITION: Structurally very good but with large area of fading. Back with extensive staining. 9-25292 (800-1,200)
