BAKHTIARI ORIENTAL RUG, WESTERN PERSIA. First third 20th century. This fine example with a central small stepped diamond ivory medallion within a blue/black arabesque floral medallion set within a brick red field densely populated with deep indigo and polychrome floral sprays within conforming floral blue/black spandrels. The brick red main border of scrolling vinery and lotus blossoms. SIZE: 10′ 6″ x 7′ 1″. CONDITION: Very good overall with nearly full pile, minimally lower at one end. Selvages intact. End fringes missing with slight wear to end guard borders. 9-98287 (3,000-5,000)
