FABULOUS VERMONT BABY BLOCKS MEDALLION ANTIQUE QUILT. The hand pieced, hand quilted quilt made for a four-poster bed contains a selection of fabrics from a wide era (1825-1880). Completed between 1880-1890 by an unknown maker in Windham County, Vermont, perhaps Putney or Westminster. The well planned quilt showing an imaginative design and use of different fabrics. REFERENCE: The quilt is illustrated in full page color on page 87 of “Plain and Fancy, Vermont’s People & Their Quilts As a Reflection of America” by Richard L. Cleveland & Donna Bister. Also exhibited and included in the pamphlet on page 32, No 714 of “Maple Leaf Quilters 1992 Festival of Quilts” in Rutland VT.
