SET OF SIX NEW ENGLAND STEP-DOWN WINDSOR SIDE CHAIRS. Late 18th, early 19th century. Each stepped crest with pointed ears joined to seven bent spindles above the shaped seat with incised accents raised on swelled splayed simulated bamboo legs joined by a conforming box stretcher. SIZE: 36″ h of back, 17″ h of seat. CONDITION: Chairs with early brown stain. Underside of seats showing traces of original white(?) paint. Structurally very good. 9-20572 (1,200-1,800)
