FINE ROSEWOOD STICK BAROMETER ON GIMBAL. Mid 19th century, English. The ivory barometric scale marked “JOHN POOLE/57. FENCHURCH STREET/LONDON” all within a molded tombstone arch aperture. Stick fitted with a gimbaled attachment. Above the thermometer tombstone aperture fitted with an ivory scale marked in centigrade and fahrenheit. Terminating in a cylindrical turned brass canister base. SIZE: 35-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Generally very good. Tubes intact. Operable. Mounting bracket absent. 9-25557 (2,000-4,000)
