FINE FULL BODY HORSE AND JOCKEY COPPER WEATHERVANE. American, late 19th century, possibly J.W. Fiske. This fine example with verdigris and gilt surfaces. Molded head, mane and tail. The rider canted forward in saddle holding sheet metal reins, his boots in sheet metal stirrups applied to the sides of the horse. The jockey’s cap with an elongated visor. Sold with accompanying stand. SIZE: 17″ h x 31″ l. PROVENANCE: From a private Maine collection. CONDITION: Surfaces with very good color and patina. No restoration noted. Small 1/4″ opening on proper left rear haunch. Minor separations along seams at rear of proper left leg and at end of tail. Overall very good. 9-21010 (30,000-35,000)
