HALF HULL MODEL OF A BARK. Late 19th, early 20th century, Massachusetts. Carved in pine from the solid mounted on a board carved with the inscription “BARK JOHN A. PARKER BUILT MATTAPOISETT 1852. SAILED 25 OCTOBER 1852 CAPT. WM. TABER.” Note: “B” in Taber is inverted and reversed. SIZE: 8-3/4″ h x 33″ l. CONDITION: Varnished surfaces original. Very good. 9-26443 (1,400-1,800)
