NEW ENGLAND CHIPPENDALE HIGH CHAIR IN GREEN PAINT. Last quarter 18th century. Constructed of maple and ash, in old Windsor green paint, the arched crestrail with backswept ears above a shaped seat, the shaped arms on square supports continuing as legs centering the trapezoidal rope-tied seat frame. The square splayed legs with cylindrical box stretcher and shaped foot rest. The chair now with later pressed fiber slip seat, above rope seat. SIZE: 31-1/2″ h x 15″ w x 13″ d.
