ATTRIBUTED TO JOSEPH MALLARD WILLIAM TURNER (British, 1775-1851) BUSY SHIPPING LANE. Watercolor on paper mounted on light board marine scene shows a rowboat, single mast fishing boat and several sails in distance. All under a lightening yellow to blue sky. Unsigned. Backboard has an early attached paper with 19th Century writing “Original water color by JMW Turner R.A. from the Collection of R. E. Lee, Esq. Sold May 28th 1884”. Housed in a fine gesso decorated fancy frame with inner gold liner. SIZE: 4-1/4” x 6-1/4”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-72170 (1,500-2,500)
