DECATUR FAMILY MAHOGANY AND MAPLE HALF HULL YACHT MODEL. Late 19th century. This fine laminated example with 11 lifts, possibly representative of the yacht “Frolic”, winner of several races on the Piscataqua in the early 1890s. Finished in a dark brown stain. Accompanied by the original plans and drawing of the sailboat designed and built for Stephen Decatur. SIZE: 7-3/4″ h x 25-1/2″ l x 4-1/4″ d PROVENANCE: By descent through the Decatur Family. CONDITION: Model retains original surfaces with rich brown patina, some separation in seams, otherwise very good. 9-97976 (800-1,200)
