INTERESTING GEORGE & MARTHA WASHINGTON LOT. Lot includes: 1) Small clipping of Martha Washington’s hair. The hair was wrapped in period paper having period writing identifying it as “Lady Martha Washington’s Hair”. 2) A piece of Washington’s cloak. The piece is of burgundy colored velvet with hand stitched edge or irregular shape. Accompanying the piece is a period piece of paper with period pen inscription “A piece of Mr? Washington’s Cloak”. 3) Small group of lace and material identified as Martha Washington’s lace. Lot includes six pieces of black lace, two pieces of white lace, and five linen handkerchiefs, three with monogram “MWJ” and one with “J”.
