FINE NEW ENGLAND PAINT DECORATED AND FAUX GRAIN DOCUMENT BOX. 1st Quarter 19th Century. The pine box with simulated crotch-cut mahogany grain and string inlay. The interior marbleized in feathered blue-green and mustard paint. The lid interior additionally with a fine folk art 1/2 portrait of a gentleman within a painted simulated frame. Discovered in Connecticut. SIZE: 6″ h x 11-1/2″ w x 7-1/2″ d. CONDITION: In very good untouched condition with minor and minimal surface blemishes. 9-20960 (1,000-1,500)
