SIX PIECE LOT INCLUDING MINIATURE PORTRAIT OF CAPTAIN PARSONS. 1) 1″ dia round miniature portrait on ivory of a young gentleman showing shoulders up. Identified on reverse as Capt. Wm. Parsons Married Anna Decatur. It is unframed but was contained within a period envelope marked “Capt. Parsons Given Me by Anna Decatur Parsons his wife-…”. 2) 1-3/4″ x 1″ interesting unframed English enamel on copper miniature picture of a woman in swimsuit and parasol on beach with cliffs in background. 3) 1/2″ x 1/2″ miniature on ivory oval view of the Taj Mahal. Unsigned. Attached to glass front. 4) 1-1/4″ x 1/2″ General Tom Thumb calling card. The white card having black typed name “Gen. Tom Thumb”. A family note accompanies this saying he was a friend of Decatur Parsons. 5) Three 3″ x 4-1/4″ drawings mounted on cardboard by William Thomas Martin Hawksworth (British, 1853-1935). One being a watercolor showing a harbor scene with buildings and boats. The other two are pencil drawings of a schooner in harbor. Identified in pencil on cardboard backing. 6) 19th Century unframed 5″ x 8″ pencil sketch of a ship battle between an American ship and another. Caption reads “The way to flatten in head sheets”. Below which is written “a la Decatur”. CONDITION: 1) Very good. 2) Enamel damage in three corners and horizontal cracks. 3) Very good. 4) Good. 5) Very good. 6) Fold marks, light foxing, good. 9-98733 (1,000-2,000)
