The cased image showing three women in a group setting with one standing flanked by another seated on each side; two hold white patterned material in their hands. The sisters are identified on a hand written paper attached to the case cover as follows: “Susan Decatur 1820-1873, Anna P. Decatur 1812-1896, Maria S.Decatur 1810-1879. The case top inside on embossed burgundy velvet “Brady’s Gallery, Broadway New York”. The leather case titled “Wolfert’s Roost” circa 1853 and illustrated as Plate 17 American Miniature Case Art by Rinhart. SIZE: Case: 6″ x 4-3/4″. CONDITION: Image is very good with some light toning at the edges. Case is “as is” with hinge and leather damage. 9-97937 (3,000-5,000)
