FEDERAL BOSTON SCHOOLGIRL DECORATED TILT TOP STAND. First quarter 19th century, Massachusetts. This fine example in tiger maple with an oval hinged top joined to the unusual threaded urn form ring turned standard raised on a scrolled tripod base. The top paint decorated with a wide floral border, the standard with encircling vinery, the base decorated with flowering rose sprigs and with trailing vines. SIZE: 29″ h. Top: 21″ x 15. CONDITION: Retaining original surfaces with appropriate craquelure. Decoration intact. Floral border on top faded as a result of polishing through the years.
