IMPORTANT NEW ENGLAND FEDERAL TIGER MAPLE SECRETARY. First quarter of the 19th Century. In two parts, the dovetailed upper case with molded cornice above a figural frieze fitted with a pair of paneled doors opening to an arrangement of shelves over two banks of short drawers above a row of valanced cubby holes, all above two tiers of long drawers fitted to the lower case. The hinged baize-lined writing surface resting on lopers over three long graduated drawers with cockbeaded edges mounted with period burnished brass hardware above a shaped apron with scrolled ends raised on baluster ring turned cylindrical legs. SIZE: 78-1/2″ h x 38-3/4″ w x 20-3/4″ d. CONDITION: With very good honey brown color and older patina with nicely polished figured surfaces. No restoration noted.
