STORER FAMILY ENGRAVED SILVER PATCHBOX. Made by Andrew Tyler of Boston (1692-1741) The hallmark “A T” in the center of the patchbox bottom. The hinged lid decorated with an oval flower head within a conforming striated border. SIZE: 1/2″ h x 2-1/2″ l x 1-3/4″ w. PROVENANCE: By descent through the Stephen Decatur family and accompanied by a hand written notebook entry listing family possessions in silver. CONDITION: This early box with multiple shallow dents and scratches from wear and usage. The hinge intact and in working order. The hallmark with some wear yet still clear. 9-97982 (800-1,200)
