GEORGE ARMFIELD (British, 1808-1893) ON POINT. Fine oil on canvas field hunting scene shows two hunting dogs on point in a sunlit grassy area. A small bramble vine is seen in foreground. Signed lower right. Housed in what appears to be its original gold gesso decorated frame with gilt liner having artist name. One of the finest examples of this artist’s work that we have handled. SIZE: 12″ x 16″. CONDITION: Very good with one small patch to reverse with corresponding minor inpainting. 9-73540 (5,500-7,500)
