REGENCY MAHOGANY OPEN BOOKCASE. First quarter 19th century. The cabinet of rectangular form with two stepped shelves joined to shaped sides fitted with brass carrying handles. The base fitted with a single drawer raised on square tapered legs with brass capped casters, the whole with contrasting string inlays. SIZE: 44-1/2″ h x 21-3/4″ w of case x 12″ d overall. PROVENANCE: Woolworth Collection (F.W. Woolworth Dept. Store). Stair & Company, New York, N.Y. CONDITION: With original surfaces and hardware. Good patina, rich brown color. Very good overall. One small shrinkage crack proper left side. 9-21300 (800-1,000)
