AMERICAN MAHOGANY BANJO TIMEPIECE. 19th century, New England. Mahogany case with onion finial, the throat with eglomise panel in gold gilt and iron red depicting a foliate pendant spray joined to a box base. The eglomise panel of a landscape, a pendulum viewing oval in the center. Case with pierced brass fillets. The 8 day movement appears intact. Clock offered with winder, weight and pendulum. SIZE: 33-1/2″ h, 7-1/2″ dial, 10″ w of case. CONDITION: Overall clean. Case repolished. Eglomise panels intact. Back of dial with pencil notations on reverse dated “1960” otherwise illegible. Dial appears not to have been repainted. 9-26430 (500-700)
