GEORGE II CARVED MAHOGANY TILT TOP TEA TABLE. Second half 18th century. The single board mahogany circular top with molded scalloped edges hinged on a birdcage support swiveling on a finely carved fluted columnar support carved with leaf tips raised on a cabriole leg tripod base with fine foliate carving. The pad feet carved with a cartouche within a border of leaf tips and punch carving. SIZE: 27-3/4″ h x 28″ dia. PROVENANCE: Woolworth Collection (F.W. Woolworth Dept. Store). Stair & Company, New York, N.Y. CONDITION: With old cleaned surfaces and good patina. The top with a professional repair to bottom edge. Base with old restoration at juncture to legs.
