MASSACHUSETTS WILLIAM AND MARY WALNUT CHEST ON FRAME. Third quarter 18th century, probably Boston. In two parts, the upper case with molded cornice with an aligned pair of short drawers over three graduated long drawers fitted to the lower case with molded edge above a pair of short drawers centering a shallow drawer with arched and scalloped apron, all raised on a later 6 legged frame. Bell turned legs joined by flat scalloped stretchers raised on ball feet. Chest with figured burl walnut veneers within double cross- banded borders. SIZE: 62″ h x 40″ w x 22-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Restored and repolished with out of period frame. Brasses replaced. Good overall. 9-25288 (1,000-2,000)
