LETTERS OF CONDOLENCE TO COMMANDER GEORGE DEWEY. 30-odd letters of condolence to Commander George Dewey on the death of his wife in 1873 from various Naval colleagues including one from David D. Porter together with several communications to Dewey from the Navy Department. Dewey was one of the longest-serving American Naval figures of the 19th century, achieving his greatest fame in the Spanish-American War. CONDITION: Very good. 9-97929 (300-500)
