FEDERAL MAHOGANY LOLLING CHAIR. Circa 1810, possibly New York. Canted rectangular overupholstered back with serpentine crestrail joined to shaped molded arms on outswept supports centering a trapezoidal overupholstered seat raised on square molded channeled frontal legs and backswept rear legs, joined by a recessed box stretcher on original leather and brass casters. SIZE: 45-1/2″ h of back, 14-1/2″ h of seat, 27″ w overall, 30″ d overall. CONDITION: Of pegged construction, with professional restoration and tightening of arms at frame. Original surfaces cleaned and well preserved. Silk brocade fabric in very fine condition. Very good overall. 9-25287 (1,500-3,000)
