IMPORTANT EARLY AMERICAN H.B. CROSBY KNIFE WALL BOX. First half 19th century. Believed to be Henry Barrett Crosby (1815-1872?) of Paterson, New Jersey. Carved from the solid, the unusual wall box fitted for 9 knives in slotted compartments. The front decorated with a shaped leather cover carved with the name “H.B./CROSBY”. SIZE: 17″ h x 5-1/2″ w x 2-3/4″ d. CONDITION: Generally very good with wonderful worn surfaces and dark, rich patina. 9-25401 (1,000-2,000)
