JOHN BRANDON SMITH (British 1848-1884) “PANDY MILL, NORTH WALES”. Outstanding oil on canvas landscape scene shows a stone mill building with a wooden sluice with a gush of water coming out the end. A fisherman with long fishing pole sits on rocks at edge of pool formed by the mill. A stone arch bridge is seen up the river in a dense wooded landscape. Light and dark blue sky with white to gray clouds. Signed lower left “J B Smith 1869”. Back of canvas with title, artist name and date. Housed in a fine gesso decorated gilt frame with name and title plaque. SIZE: 24” x 20”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-72568 (6,000-10,000)
