SIX-PIECE AUSTRIAN/GERMAN SILVER EMPIRE STYLE TEA & COFFEE SET. Pieces marked “Doreck” (Franz Hubert Doreck). Doreck arrived in Mannheim, Germany in 1821 from Brunn, Austria. He established a workshop as goldsmith & jeweler. He died in 1866. The tray & coffeepot are marked “13” which equates to .8125. The other pieces are marked “800”. Set consists of: 15″ kettle on stand with matching burner; 10-3/4″ coffee pot; 8-1/2″ tea pot; 5-1/2″ covered sugar & 5-1/2″ creamer. The 19-1/2″ x 12-1/4″ tray having a wooden base and silver frame. All items but the tray & stand have a 1″ shoulder band with embossed griffins. The water kettle stand having four legs of caryatid. No monogram. WEIGHT: 110 tr. oz (not including tray). CONDITION: Coffeepot has two 1″ light crease areas, tea pot has dime size shallow dent, sugar has 1/2″ crease, tray has some out of round, kettle on stand has small crease.
