JOHN ATKINSON GRIMSHAW (British, 1836-1893) MOONLIGHT STROLL. Oil on canvas moonlit scene shows a woman walking along cobblestone sidewalk under streetlight with a walled gate and fine houses beyond. A full moon with bluish sky and spot clouds. Signed lower left “Atkinson Grimshaw”. Housed in a gesso decorated antique frame with modern white linen liner. The canvas having a Windsor & Newton’s, London canvas stamp. SIZE: 12” x 8”. CONDITION: Very good. Back of canvas shows a water stain which is not reflected in front. 9-72677 (10,000-15,000)
