TWO LETTERS: ELIZABETH WASHINGTON TO TOBIAS LEAR, ALS 1p. 4to, September 5, 1795, AND ANOTHER WASHINGTON FAMILY MEMBER LETTER. A charming note advising Tobias Lear that “Mr. Washington” would provide him with the use of a horse named Short during his stay “up the country”. Elizabeth Washington was the only sister of George Washington to survive to adulthood. The second letter dated October 25, 1795 requests a delivery of an attached letter and signed “Lau. Washington”, presumably Laurence Washington, one of George Washington’s nephews. CONDITION: Very good condition. 9-97918-1 (300-500)
