JAMES A. CAMLIN (American, 1918-1982) TRANQUIL MAINE COVE. Large watercolor scene shows lobster boat moored in small cove with colorful sky with yellows, pinks and green. Shoreline on right side has fishing shacks and houses. Left side has tall cliff reminiscent of Monhegan Island. Signed lower right. Housed in a fine contemporary frame with double matte. PROVENANCE: Family of the artist. Camlin is listed in Who’s Who in American Art and was a member of the North Shore Art Association, Gloucester, Mass and studied under Aldro T. Hibbard. He worked mostly in watercolor and is known for his seascapes and landscapes. He has exhibited throughout the world including The National Academy Gallery, Ogunquit Art Center amongst others.
