PALLADIO, ANDREA. LES ANTIQUITEZ DE LA VILLE DE ROME. Rome; Mario Catalani, 1646. BOUND WITH:LES SEPT EGLISES PRINCIPALES LA PRIMIERE EGLISE EFT. S. JEAN DE LATERAN. Presumed to be the same publisher & imprint date. The Palladio title comprises pages 131-190 (complete) and the first title in pages 1-130. It is my best opinion that this was a traveler’s book to the great landmarks of Rome. Pages 189 & 180 give a distance table to Rome. Bound in limp vellum and adorned with a profusion of well accomplished woodcuts. The lettered spine title “Antiquities de Rome.” CONDITION: Complete except for the preliminary blanks and likely the rear free fly. A bookworm has made its way through the outer and lower margins of the final 70 pages but is predominately marginal in nature. Several pages are mis-numbered but the book collates as complete. 9-25322 (600-900)
