CASE OF JAMES EARL OF BALCARRAS CLAIMING THE TITLES AND DIGNITIES OF EARL OF CRAWFORD AND OLDER BARONY OF LINDSAY. There are 6 folio volumes describing the case at bar contesting the titles, honors, dignities and properties of the Earldom of Crawford. These were most likely published in London in the second half of the 19th century. The claims revert to the title of the Original Dukedom of Montrose created in 1488. Part 2 of the supplement volume is inscribed to “Joseph Robertson Esq with Lord Lindsay’s compliments”. Second folio has the same presentation. Third folio has the armorial bookplate of Cecil George Savile Foljambe. Together, 6 tall folios. CONDITION: All six bindings in various states of distress, some boards detached. 9-25323 (400-600)
