Bottom inscribed “Isidore Pelfresne Sep 9 1875”. Housed in a period gilt molded wood frame with linen liner. Stretcher with stencil mark from Kleemann Galleries, New York. Also frame has Kleemann Gallery label with title “Study of a Head”. A New Britain Museum of American Art Deaccessioned label is attached to back dust board. SIZE: 19-3/4” x 15-3/4”. CONDITION: 1” lifted crack in background. Otherwise very good. 9-26954 (1,300-1,600)
