ANDREAS ROTH (American/German 1872-1949) EUROPEAN LAKE SCENE. Large oil on canvas scene shows winding lake with steep snow covered mountain backdrop. Peninsula has tall trees, walled property having steps to the water decorated with large marble lion. Sailboat moored beside. Buildings are seen at end of lake and sharp cliffs on right side. Signed lower left “Andr. Roth 1911”. Roth was born in Germany and worked until the mid-30’s when he moved to California and painted west coast and Canadian scenes. Housed in a carved and painted wood frame. SIZE: 24-3/4” x 48”. CONDITION: Very good, one small patch on reverse. 9-94120 (800-1,200)
