OUTSTANDING PAIR OF CONTINENTAL BAROQUE CARVED WALNUT OPEN ARMCHAIRS. Probably French, 17th Century. Raked back with serpentine top rail and S-form arms on voluted supports. The seat supported by turned and block legs joined by conforming stretchers. Upholstered in period Louie XV needlework of a floral and leaf design in colors of blues, reds and golds. SIZE: 43-1/2” h x 17” seat h. CONDITION: One front leg replaced. Some insect damage. Very good condition. 12-12258 (2,000-4,000)
