LOT OF 2 MECHANICAL BANKS. 1). Shepard Hardware Leap Frog. A classic bank of 2 young boys playing leap frog with a fence in the background and a tree in front. When the boy jumps over the other, he hits a lever that releases the coin into the trunk of tree. A very colorful and amusing bank. In need of a cleaning to bring out its true charm. Polychromed in bright colors with a substantial amount of yellow and brown still intact on top of tree stump. 2). Punch and Judy, the classical puppet story from the late 1800s is carried forward into this most amusing and fancifully cast mechanical bank. Done in a stage type setting the coin is placed on Judy’s tray and Punch lurches at her with his club while Judy deposits the coin safely away into the bank coffers. SIZE: 7 1/2″ t, 6 1/4″ t, respectively. CONDITION: Good to very good; poor to fair condition, respectively. 1-5980 JL (800-1,200)
