TWO FRAMED 19TH CENTURY HORSE PRINTS. 1) Large colored engraving after a painting by J.F. Herring Sr. (United Kingdom, 1795-1865). Engraved by G. Paterson, Published 1859 by Goupil & Co., Paris. Titled “A Glimpse of an English Homestead”. The scene shows a barn interior with horses, ducks, chickens, goat, rabbits, and the farm & his wife. Housed in a fine period Eastlake gold & ebony frame with white matte. 2) Black & white engraving after a painting by J.F. Herring (United Kingdom, 1795-1865). Engraved by Thomas Landseer, Published 1847 by S & J Fuller, Paris. Titled “Three Members of the Temperance Society”. The seen showing three horses at watering trough. Housed in a period Eastlake style frame. SIZE: 1) Sight: 24″ x 35″. 2) Sight: 26-1/2″ x 35″. PROVENANCE: From a fine southern Maine home. CONDITION: Not examined out of frame. 1) Repaired tear into image in top left. 2) Some toning,small puncture at top edge of image. 9-25112 (500-800)
