GUY CARLETON WIGGINS (American, 1883-1962) “FISHING SHACK AT OLD LYME”. Fine watercolor shows a fishing shack with open door, lobster buoys and lobster traps at edge of harbor with path leading through rocks. Another small building is seen on a dock with a man tending to a moored lobster boat. Several seagulls are seen overhead and perched on rooftop. Signed lower left “Guy Wiggins Lyme, Conn.” Label on reverse from Galleries Maurice Sternberg, Chicago, Ill. with artist title, etc. Housed in a good gilt carved wood frame with decorated matte and glass. Accompanying the watercolor is the original receipt and correspondence from Sternberg. Also a copy of December, 1977 American Art Review magazine which illustrates this watercolor in color in an article titled “Guy Wiggins: American Impressionist”. SIZE: 10″ x 13-1/4″.
