OUTSTANDING SAFARI FIGURAL CASED KNIFE SET BY MITCHELL MONARCH. Fine oak case with fitted interior and glass windowed hinged top opens to reveal a fitted burgundy velvet case having five knives, stag medallion and wood company label. Each of the five knives are cast with a different three dimensional animal head having English hallmarks indicating solid sterling silver. Each of the blades are marked “Mitchell Monach Sheffield, England Hand Made”. Each with what appears to be rosewood handles having brass fastener. Knives are as follows: 17-3/4″ knife with 2-1/4″ elephant; 13-1/2″ knife with rinocourus; 13-1/2″ knife with tiger; 12-3/4″ knife with lion; 12-3/4″ dagger with water buffalo. Case is complete with key. CONDITION: Very good to excellent, glass window has chip and crack to bottom right corner. 9-91061 (3,000-5,000)
