*WINCHESTER MODEL 61 SMOOTHBORE PUMP RIFLE. Cal. 22LR shot. A scarce rifle with 24” tapered round bbl with single silver bead. It has a flat bottom ribbed forearm and pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. It has a 1/4” diameter bore at the muzzle, which is counterbored 8”. Receiver has the unusual feature of a 1/4” wide, shallow groove the full length of the top with the proof mark correspondingly off to the left side and there is a small “W” proof mark on the floorplate. SN 51982. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl and receiver retain about all of a very fine professionally restored finish. The magazine tube retains about 75% strong bright original blue. Wood is sound with the stock retaining 94-95% strong bright original varnish and the forearm most of a restored finish. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-49998 JR237 (2,250-3,250)
