UNSIGNED (European, 19th century) THE KING’S MOUNT. Oil on paper scene shows a young king wearing fancy coat and crown atop his white stallion which has been decorated with gilt leather straps. Four young men follow in a landscape setting. Housed in a gesso decorated gilt frame. This piece probably was the insert to a leather portfolio cover. SIZE: 17-1/4″ x 12-1/2″. CONDITION: Edges with losses retaining some of the perforated leather edge. Paper is brittle, dirty and “as is”. 7-70083 (200-400)
