UNSIGNED (Italian 19th Century) PAIR OF MT. VESUVIUS SCENES. Housed in Victorian criss-cross walnut frames (one missing leaf decoration). The scenes are titled and dated “1868”. One shows an exploding volcano over a tranquil harbor, the blast reflecting in the lighthouse tower. The other is prior to the explosion, with the volcano only smoking. Frames have self painted matte in black and gray and black. SIZE: 18″ x 27-1/2″. CONDITION: One having tears, edge losses and creases. The other with minimal imperfections. 9-25931 (600-900)
