SUPERB SET OF TEN BENCH-MADE HEPPLEWHITE INLAID MAHOGANY DINING ROOM CHAIRS. Early 20th Century. Comprised of eight side chairs and two armchairs. Each curved tablet crest with rectangular figured birch inlaid panels centering an additional inlaid panel with tobacco leaf spray within a mahogany patera ,above the pierced splat having three vertical elements with leaftip terminals connected with interwoven molded elements centering an oval patera with carved flowerhead above the over-upholstered trapezoidal seat with bowed front. Raised on frontal square tapered legs with spade feet. Inlaid with satinwood bell flowers, turned rear legs canted. Armchairs with outswept serpentine arms and turned down grips on urn-formed supports. Hand made custom chairs designed with Baltimore elements. SIZE: 35-1/2″ h x 17″ seat h. CONDITION: Chairs in excellent condition overall with minor exceptions; a small chip in the corner of one of the tablet crests; repair to each armchair on one arm at the urn support, visible only by careful examination. 9-91502 (6,000-12,000)
