*RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 697 BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22. Scarce little rifle with 25” tapered round bbl, made without sights, and issued with factory scope blocks on which is mounted a Winchester small target scope in Winchester rings. It is mounted in a 1-pc walnut stock and accompanied by a Model 69 marked five-shot magazine. The rear receiver bridge has a dovetail filled with a slot blank. NSN. CONDITION: Fine, bbl and receiver retain 95-96% original blue with scattered fine surface rust and light edge wear. The bolt knob is brown. The trigger guard and floorplate are mostly a blue/brown patina. The magazine release is stuck and the magazine cannot be removed. Wood is sound and retains 60-70% original varnish with chemical spotting and light handling and use marks. The scope rings are a blue/brown patina with the scope body retaining 85-90% greenish lacquer. Bright shiny bore. The optics are clear but the crosshairs are damaged. 4-49216 (600-900)
