UNUSUAL FOLK ART MARQUETRY SLANT FRONT DESK. This unusual desk has elaborate and intricate marquetry inlays throughout. In one piece, having top back section with central bowed door with inlaid two handled urn. Interior fitted with one shelf. A central door flanked by three drawers on each side with geometric inlays. The drawers have an interior locking mechanism. The bottom section with inset fall front design which opens to a large open interior with geometric diamond pattern. The sides of this desk area have two shelves each, again, opened by an interior latch. The desk lid inlaid with eye dazzling block pattern. Underneath is a slide out checkerboard game board slide. Fall front small door and two drawers. All resting on four shaped tapering square legs ending in an H-shaped base. Various wood inlays with birdseye maple panels. SIZE: 59-1/2” h x 38-1/2” w x 23” d.
