HENRY SIDDONS MOWBRAY (American, 1858-1928) THE YOUNG FLUTE PLAYER. Impressionistic oil on panel shows what appears to be two young mythological forest dwellers around a cauldron. One plays a small recorder type flute while another looks on. Signed lower right “H.S. Mowbray”. Housed in a wonderful pierced decorated gilt frame set in a burgundy velvet lined shadow box. SIZE: 4-3/4” x 6-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good, some inpainting. 9-94321 (3,500-4,500)
