TWO SMALL ELEPHANT BRONZES. Last quarter 19th century. Each modeled in lifelike form, the larger with upturned trunk, the smaller defending itself against a tiger. SIZE: Height of first 6 1/2″. Height of second 4 3/4″. CONDITION: Both in as-found condition, the larger with damage beneath proper right front leg, the second with damage to tiger and elephant tails, and loss of tusks. Both retain old original patina. 9-91901 (300-500)
