PAIR OF COPPER INTAGLIO ROUND PLATES. Interesting copper plates have a central figure of four Roman profiles surrounded by Classical themes including man with four-horse chariot, reclining female, three goddesses, two-horse chariot, man in landscape and more. The other with central theme of two horses with warriors and angel. On top is a god with four-horse chariot surrounded by wrestling men. These may have been used for Jasperware round medallions or something of that nature. Signed at bottom on one in very small letters in which we can not read. SIZE: Total is 6-1/2″. Engraved ares is 5-1/2″ dia. CONDITION: Very good. 9-91844 (200-400)
