AMES 1842 PATTERN CALVARY SABER. Standard saber with 35-1/2” curved blade dated “1849” with inspector marks and “U.S.” on the right ricasso. It has three-branch knuckle guard with leather wrapped handle. No scabbard. CONDITION: Poor to fair. Blade has deep rust pitting under a dark brown patina. Most of the wire wrap is missing. 3-30036 JR535 (150-250)
