FRENCH SCHMITT BEBE. Incised on back of head “SCH (within a shield) 1” and stamped on the flat derriere of torso “SCH” (within a shield). Lovely early 1880s child with almond shaped brown paperweight eyes, closed mouth with highlight marks on upper and lower lips. On original body and wearing an antique white cotton gauze and lace dress, over an orchid undergarment, antique blonde mohair wig and burgundy leather slippers with rosettes impressed on bottom C.C. (within a circle). Pale bisque with mauve shaded cheeks. SIZE: 15″ t. CONDITION: Kiln dust spot on cheek and forehead. Body in original condition with wear commensurate with age of the doll. 1-5784 JL (12,000-15,000)
